A delegation from the University of Zakho, headed by Dr. Lokman A. Abdulkareem, the Director of the International Relations Office, Ms. Safa S. Ibrahim, lecturer at the Department of Petroleum Engineering, Engineer Ali Hameed, lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Mr. Mevan Mustafa, currently a master student at the Department of Chemistry at the University of Zakho, participated in the 13th Multiphase Flow Conference and Short Courses, which was held in the center Helmholtz- Zentrum Dresden- Rossendorf (HZDR) Dresden in Germany between the 23rd and the 28th of November 2015. This project was a part of the collaboration between the University of Zakho and its partner the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) in the frame of the project Iraq-German Partnership on Multiphase Flow Research and Training (IGP-Multiflow) within the funding scheme Hochschulpartnerschaften IRAK HSP2-A, 14 of DAAD.
Multiphase flows are of great interest to a large variety of industries. The aim of the conference was to bring together the experimental and numerical practitioners, and to foster discussions and the exchange of knowledge. Experts from both areas attended and presented their researches and application results.
